Take your time reading this: If you tend to procrastinate, you are also more likely to have trouble sleeping. In the first study of its kind, research involving 600 people found that putting things off leads many people to worry about those things when they should be heading for dreamland, thus spending more time tossing and turning than dozing and dreaming. Lead researcher Ilana S. Hairston, a sleep researcher at Israel's Academic College of Tel Aviv told LiveScience that the study was unique and insightful. One fact that stood out was that self-described "morning people" -- those who are early to bed and early to rise -- didn't procrastinate as much as "evening people," and also had fewer problems falling asleep. Although the new study backs up some findings from previous work, including that morning people are often more conscientious and social, it doesn't necessarily prove that procrastinating causes insomnia. In fact, the opposite might be the case: People dealing with insomnia might not have the willpower to get work done. The researchers said more studies are needed to get closer to the heart of the matter.

Some insomnia facts to sleep on:

Approximately half of all adults have experienced some insomnia, but 10 percent have dealt with it on a chronic basis.

Insomnia is more prevalent among women, adults with children, and the elderly.

Studies show that insomnia can be linked to traffic accidents, missed work, unhappiness with employment, and irritability.

Hi there.
Arakin is a boook for language faculties mostly.
For wider audience there are books like 'Vocabulary in Use' by Cambridge University Press, which I'm not into, by the way. However, people like this series.
Check 'Oxford Word Skills' by Ruth Gairns and Stuart Redman (3 books).
Woolard 'Key words for fluency' series.
'4000 Essential English Words' by Paul Nation (6 books).
There are dozens of options actually, hard to mention all of them. Tastes and ambitions differ.
Sometimes it's hard to separate vocabulary from grammar as they are always side by side, so such books as 'Grammar and Vocabulary Practice' by H.Q. Mitchell can be a good choice.

Depending on the level and goals/objectives you can choose any vocabulary book for IELTS/FCE/CPE/CAE preparation, for instance.
Please bear in mind that the best way of developing vocabulary is active reading (literature, blogs, articles, etc.) and watching/listening (movies, youtube videos, podcasts, etc.) where words appear in context.

I am not so aware of how the system are built in the others books for practicing, still I liked Arakin due to loads of opportunities for repetition of some expressions, phrasel verbs. He gives huge amount of examples to work out the same to embed it in your mind. Interesting sentences in Russian to translate them also keep my curiosity. The one essential lack of this book for me is being old fashioned

I don't think any book can be old-fashioned in case you learn at least something from it. I completed all the five Arakin books myself from cover to cover when I was a student at a language faculty. Still have them in my office next to the most favourite books of mine. Detested some of the exercises there as I was already using books by Oxford, Cambridge and other publishing houses in teaching.

The point is, no one actually knows what exactly influences our knowledge, it cannot be identified. This book or that one definitely leaves a trace in our memory.

The word 'school' in his quote should be considered in a broad sense.
Can you say Aristotle is outdated? Is Franz Kafka obsolete? Are Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle ancient?
I don't think so.
I use and read lots of books, no matter when they were first published, constantly adding to them some of the latest ones.

Don't look for fashion in the books, explore and discover proper thought-provoking ideas.
